Rules

  1. Enter
    • To participate in Höga Kusten Swimrun you have to race in teams consisting two persons that are at least 18 years old and be able to swim.
    • Each team member need a valid insurance certificate for Swimrun or sports similar to Swimrun.
    • Teams are allowed to change one team member prior to start.
    • NO external sales of your entry is allowed.
  2. Race course
    • The racecourse is marked with ribbons.
    • The participants must follow the marked course.
    • The participants that do not follow the marked course will be disqualified.
  3. Equipment
    • All teams need to bring all their equipment from start to finish, if a team fail to bring all their equipment to the finish line they will be disqualified.
    • Mandatory equipment:
      • 2 Wetsuits suitable for water temperature of 10 degrees Celsius.
      • 2 Whistles attached to the wetsuit.
      • 1 first aid Pressure bandage, packed waterproof.
      • 1 Compass/Watch Compass
      • In Experience Solo you must have a light inflatable bouey attached on the swim sections. This is how it looks: (addnature.com)
    • Mandatory equipment that organization will supply
      • Race bibs must be worn visible all the time during the race.
      • Swim caps must be worn visible during all the swims.
    • Equipment check before the race
      • There will be a mandatory check in before the race.
    • Equipment that is not allowed
      • Floatation help bigger than 100 cm x 60 cm are not allowed.
      • Shoes with metallic studs are not allowed.
  4. Timing
    • Time will be taken from the start until the last of the two team member have cross the finish line.
    • All times mentioned for Höga Kusten Swimrun regards GMT +1. 
  5. Racers responsibility
    • The participants must know the rules of the race and follow these.
    • The participants shall respect other participants, organization, spectators and the people living in the race area.
    • The participants are not allowed to use unfair methods to get advantages.
    • Doping is forbidden according to Swedish RF rules.
    • The participants are obliged to help in case of emergency if the organization is asking for it.
    • Before the race:
      • The participants can train and scout the course prior to the race but have to respect the residents in the area and behave according to the Swedish "Allemansrätten".
    • During the race:
      • The participants are participating at their own risk and cannot hold the organization responsible for any accident during the race.
      • The teams are obliged at their best ability to help another team that have been injured or being sick or are at risk of accident.
      • A team that has abandoned the race shall report it as soon as possible to the organization.
      • The participants are not allowed to throw trash in nature. If a team is doing so they will get disqualified.
      • By registration and pay entrance free to High Coast Swim Run you sign that you agree and understand all rules and responsible as a competitor.
  6. Rules
    • Race jury
    • Race jury is the race director and two persons from the race organization.
    • The race jury is:
      • Enforcing the rules.
      • Decide the outcome of a protest.
      • Decide about disqualification.
      • Decide about course changes and changes in the rules.
    • At least two member of the jury is needed to be able to take a race jury decision.
    • The race jury has the right to use "common sense" to take a decision about arisen situation if it is not clear in the rules.
    • The decision of the race jury is definitive.
    • Protest
    • A protest must be given in written form to the race organization within an hour after finishing the race and must include:
      • Time and location
      • Team number and signature of the team members
      • Team number or team name of the team that the protest is against.
      • The reason for the protest
      • If possible include witness with name or team number
    • A protest that does not fill the criteria of previous point will be ignored.
    • A decision from the race jury will be communicated with to those involved as soon as possible.
    • Disqualifications
    • Offence against the rules leads to disqualification.
    • External assistance
    • It is not allowed to receive assistance from other people than the race organization. Each team has to make their own way from start to finish using their own body.
  7. Safety
    • General safety rules
    • The two member of each team has to stay together at all time and cannot be more than 10 meters apart from each other during the entire race.
    • The race organization can refuse a team to continue if they judge them not capable caused by fatigue or being in such bad physical condition.
  8. Media and sponsor exposure
    • Sponsor logos
    • Teams are allowed to have sponsor logos on their race gear.
    • Race bibs
    • The race bibs cannot be modified in any way and must be worn all the time.
    • Pictures and Film copyrights:
    • The participants gives the race organization the right to use pictures and film material taken during the race to be used free of right in marketing, press material, internet, television and movie.
  9. Accepting the rules
    • By entering the race each team member accepts the rules in full.
  10. Rules regarding Family & Friends
    • To participate in Family&Friends you have to be in a two-person team. You can race in mix, female or male category.
    • Children that are younger than 11 years have to race with a person older than 18 years (Myndig person).
    • Children older than 11 years is allowed to race with children in same age, but they must have taken "Simborgarmärket" before they the race, so that they can swim at least 200 meters in a row. And the parents need to allow them to race.
    • Lifejackets are allowed.
    • The two members of each team has to stay together at all time and cannot be more than 10 meters apart from each other during the entire race.
    • Time will be taken from start to finish, so each team will have a finish time.
    • The participants need to follow the marked route all the way (no shortcuts) The course will be marked with ribbons.
    • The racers are not allowed to throw trash in the nature.
